This recipe is the perfect treat for all these hot days we’ve been having! There are two different ways you can make these and I’m going to walk you through both. Both recipes have the exact same ingredients, however one way will give you the marble/layered effect. This layered look admittedly definitely took a little more effort than I expected, but I learned some tricks along the way to help you out! The extra effort (and mess) was mainly due to the fact that I used pour bottles instead of squeeze bottles. I’m going to go through the quicker way first, and the layered look will be at the bottom. If you want to make a smaller batch of these you can use a half a cup of fruit for each instead of the full cup.
*The squeeze bottles make all the difference in this recipe. It makes everything a lot quicker and cleaner.
* Make sure if you are using silicone molds, place them on a baking sheet or flat pan. This way you will be able to easily pick up the trays to put in the freezer.
*You can freeze each individual layer if you’d like to get a cleaner look. After putting the yogurt mix into the mold, place into the freezer for 20 mins. Then take out and repeat with each fruit layer.
Blend together mangos and blueberries individually with added water. The consistency should be thin enough to pour. If you find it is still too thick, add some more water, if it is too thin add more fruit. Blend the bananas with the yogurt, this consistency will be thicker.
So as you can see by the pictures, this process was super messy. However that’s because I used pour containers instead of the squeeze bottles. Which is why I linked the squeeze bottles, they will make this process so much quicker and cleaner!! Thankfully you can learn from my mistake! As I mentioned previously, you can absolutely freeze each layer for about 20 mins or so if you’d like to give a more “layered” look. Personally I like the marble effect.
Scoop the yogurt mixture into the center to create a little wall between the other fruit layers. Then pour in your fruit mixtures on either side. You can use a spoon like I did (pictured below) to create even more of a boundary and separate the fruit layers even more.
Once these are all frozen, you can take out and let your pup enjoy! These treats can be stored in a sealed container for around 1-2 weeks in the freezer.
